Tsoukalades Village
The traditional village of Tsoukalades is built on a plateau 200m above sea level, on the northeastern part of Lefkada Island with a magnificent view to the Ionian Sea. It is situated only 6 km from the town of Lefkada and it is conveniently close to the picturesque beach of Kathisma, as well as the beaches Pefkoulia, Kaminia, Gialos and Skala. To reach the beach, you pass through a verdant, lush pine forest that surrounds the Tsoukalades village not only with its natural beauty but also with its musky, earthy fragrances and the coolness of the rich shadows under the majestic, perennial trees.

The visitors of Ionian Horizon Villas can indulge in a wide variety of activities. For starters, swimming and sunbathing under the bright Greek sun in any of the nearby beaches of Kaminia, Skala Gialou and Pefkoulia. Kathisma beach just 12 km away with beach bars, taverns and paragliding. On the west of the island the world- famous beaches Porto Katsika and Eggremnoi. The beach of Gialos is not organized; it is perfect for a peaceful swim in the mesmerizing azure waters of the Ionian. Kaminia is also isolated, with no sunbeds or any organization, perfect for moments of relaxation and calmness, on a scenic rocky beach with crystal clear waters. Pefkoulia beach has plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas as well as a beach bar and a restaurant. To add a more adventurous flair to your holiday, kite surfing is a sport that is on the rise the last few years in Lefkada. Kite surf aficionados from around the world rush to the island’s beaches, especially Agios Ioannis and Vassiliki to indulge to their favorite sport. As the initiating course for this sport is rather quick and renting the appropriate equipment is available in centers in these particular beaches and the town of Lefkada, it is relatively easy for any novice to try kite surfing in the most beautiful location, the windy beaches of Lefkada.
The surrounding nature of the Tsoukalades area is a lush verdant pine forest, perfect for long walking expeditions under its thick cool shadows. Follow the path leading to the Tsoukalades plateau, breathe the fresh air saturated with the musky pine scent and the fragrances of thyme, honeysuckle and jasmine and admire the magnificent view to the Ionian Sea. Other paths lead to the nearby beaches. You can also enjoy these routes on horseback, in guided tours organized by the local stables, or even by bike. How to reach us
Reaching Lefkada could not be easier, since it is one of the two Greek islands accessible by car, due to its convenient bridge and by airplane.
By airplane.
There are also direct flights from Athens and other major countries to the nearby airport of Aktio / Preveza. The daily flights from Athens last approx. 50 minutes. And the airport is just 15 minutes by car away from Lefkada.
By car.
Coming from Athens, the fastest driving route is via E94 E55, passing through Corinth and Patras, and crossing the Rio-Antirio Bridge. The distance of this particular route is approximately 360 km and will last less than five hours. Alternately, when travelling from Thessaloniki the best possible route is via the Egnatia Odos (E90), E 951, 21 passing through Metsovo, Ioannina, Parga and Preveza. This route is approximately 380 km long and will last just over 4 hours. These times are calculated considering no traffic impacts on your route.
